How it works
Everything you need to know about fixing your priorities
What is fixmypriorities.com?
fixmypriorities.com is a simple tool that helps you decide what really deserves your attention, and what doesn't.
Instead of staring at a long to-do list, you answer 5 quick questions about each task. We then calculate its urgency and importance, and place it in a Priority Matrix.
The result? A clear visual overview of what to do now, what to plan, what to delegate, and what to let go.
Why is prioritising so hard?
Most people struggle with priorities because:
- Everything feels urgent when it lands on your desk
- It's hard to step back and evaluate objectively
- We confuse "busy" with "productive"
- Fear of missing out makes us keep tasks we shouldn't
fixmypriorities.com solves this by asking the right questions, questions that force you to think about deadlines, consequences, goals, and impact.
No more guessing. No more stress. Just clarity.
How do the 5 questions work?
Each question targets a specific aspect of your task:
- Deadline: is there time pressure?
- Consequences: what happens if you don't do it?
- Goal contribution: does it move you forward?
- Long-term impact: will it matter in the future?
- Delegation: can someone else handle it?
Your answers are converted into urgency and importance scores (0-10 each). Based on these scores, your task lands in one of four quadrants.
It's fast, fair, and surprisingly accurate.
What is the Priority Matrix?
The Priority Matrix (also known as the Eisenhower Matrix) divides tasks into four zones:
- Do Now: urgent and important. Handle these immediately.
- Plan: important but not urgent. Schedule time for these.
- Delegate: urgent but not important. Hand these off if possible.
- Eliminate: neither urgent nor important. Let them go.
Once your tasks are placed, you can drag and drop them to fine-tune your priorities. The matrix gives you a bird's-eye view of your workload, making it easy to focus on what matters.
How do completion and rewards work?
When you finish a task, you can mark it as complete directly in the matrix.
A small celebration moment (confetti!) rewards your progress and keeps you motivated.
Over time, you earn medals for:
- Completing tasks
- Maintaining daily streaks
- Clearing your "Do Now" quadrant
It's a light gamification layer designed to encourage consistency, without adding pressure.
